Big Rio 2000 is very early, professional hybrid (F1) variety, developed for reliable yields even in less favorable weather conditions, such as humid and rainy summers. The plant is determinant, which means that does not need support, as it grows bushy and is a great choice for easy growing in the garden or in larger containers.
The fruits are oval shaped, weigh about 100 grams or more, with very firm meat and shiny red color at full maturity. The sugar content ranges between 4 and 5 Brix, which provides a pleasant, slightly sweet taste.
Because of your of exceptional fertility and firm fruit structure makes Big Rio 2000 an excellent choice for fresh use, processing (e.g. sauces, purees) and drying. The variety is especially recommended for professional gardeners due to its resistance to diseases such as:
