Tomatoes Inkspots (Solanum lycopersicum) is special micro-dwarf traditional variety, created for cultivation in pots, window sills, balconies and small containers. The plant only grows 20–30 cm tall, compact and densely branched, so it does not need support and is ideal for urban gardeners and indoor growing.
The variety produces a multitude of small cherry-like fruits, which are dark colored on the upper part due to the presence of anthocyanin (dark purple-black “ink spots”), while below they turn into red-orange tones. The contrast of colors makes the fruits extremely decorative. The flesh is juicy, with gently sweet and slightly fruity taste, which balances the slight acidity well.
Inkspots is one of medium early varieties that bear well even in slightly lower light conditions. Due to their very small growth and beautiful appearance, they are a popular choice among collectors and growers of micro-dwarf varieties.
The origin of the variety is not fully confirmed, but it is most often associated with newer American micro-dwarf selections, which were created as part of amateur programs for the development of compact paradižniks.
