Tomatoes Hundreds and Thousands (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiformes) is extremely fertile cherry tree variety, which forms in the season thousands of tiny, sweet fruits. The fruits are small (1–2 cm), round, shiny red, with juicy, sweet meat and a distinct aroma.
The plant has indeterminate, distinctly drooping (hanging) growth – it is ideal for hanging containers, sinks and borders, where long shoots gracefully descend downwards (the length of the shoots often 60–100 cm). It ripens. early, approximately 65–70 days after transplanting, and yields continuously throughout the summer.
Type Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiformes indicates natural version of the regular paradižnika, which gives smaller, round cherry-type fruits. Name cerasiformes comes from the Latin word cerasum – cherry – and describes small, sweet and numerous fruits, typical of this subspecies. Compared to the regular paradižnikom (Solanum lycopersicum) are these plants closer to wild ancestors, more resistant, with smaller fruits, but extremely high fertility and authentic fruit flavor.
