The plant grows upright, medium lush with characteristic white-yellow flowers, from which they develop juicy, slightly ribbed fruits 5–9 cm long. For more compact growth can the top of the plant simply cut off, thereby encouraging the development of many side shoots and thus a higher yield.
Fruits can we harvest until the first frost, when they are still young and soft. Okra offers an extremely wide range of uses – boiled, baked, fried, stewed or pickled, it is also suitable for freezing and drying. It is excellent as thickener for soups, broths, sauces and stews, as it adds a pleasantly thick texture and rich flavor to dishes. Young leaves can be used as spinach or in salads, and from the fruits and leaves we prepare medicinal teas. The Clemson Spineless variety is known for has no thorns, which greatly facilitates harvesting.
