The peony grows like a woody plant and blooms similarly, but when cut, it behaves like a herbaceous plant. This means that in the fall, or until winter, the above-ground part dies back and sprouts again the following year. When it has finished blooming, we cut off the flowers and thus encourage other buds to produce a new flower bud.
