Kumara - Limon

Bewertet mit 4.7 von 5

Lemon Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is one of the most unusual and at the same time most popular traditional cucumber varieties, known for its round, lemon-yellow fruits, which at first glance resemble smaller lemons. It is an old variety that originates from India, and has been present in Europe and the USA since the end of the 19th century.

The fruits are small to medium-sized, usually 6–8 cm in diameter, with a delicate, thin skin and light yellow flesh. The taste is refreshingly mild, slightly sweet, without the characteristic bitterness that can occur in some green varieties. The flesh is very juicy and crispy, which makes it an excellent choice for salads, fresh use and also pickling.

The plant is lush and well-branched, suitable for growing on supports or in the ground. The crops are exceptionally abundant, and the fruits are harvested as they ripen, as the plant constantly produces new ones. The advantage of the variety is also excellent resistance to heat and drought, which makes it remain productive even in more demanding seasons.
