Pitaya Moroccan Red (Hylocereus monacanthus) is a very attractive variety of dragon fruit with intense red peel and dark red meat, known for its extremely sweet and aromatic taste. The variety forms medium to large fruits, usually 300–500g, which are uniformly oval in shape and very decorative due to the contrast between the red shell and the green scales.
Variety Moroccan Red is self-fertile, which means it can develop fruit even without another pitaya variety. The flesh is rich red, juicy, sweet and refreshing, with a slight floral note.
