Chili Black Chupetinho (Capsicum chinense) is a beautiful and rarer version of the classic Chupetinho, known for its small, teardrop-shaped fruits. In this special variety, the fruits first get dark purple-black coloration, then at full maturity they pass into dark red shades, which gives the plant an extremely decorative appearance.
The fruits are small, firm, with a very characteristic “"drop-shaped" shape, which is the trademark of the Chupetinho variety. The taste is typical fruity-citrus, but slightly deeper and more aromatic than in the classic versions, and the spiciness is mild to moderate – enough to add a nice spicy note to the dish, but never too aggressive.
Its aroma, size and beauty make Black Chupetinho exceptional for fermentation, salsas, ornamental plantings, pickling, drying and culinary decoration. The plant is compact, extremely productive and grows well both in pots and in the garden.
