Zucchini Delicate is an old, extremely valued variety, recognizable for its elongated, light cream fruits with green longitudinal stripes. Fruits usually measure 15–20 cm in length and they have thin and edible peel and sweet, nutty flesh. The taste is rich, somewhat reminiscent of chestnuts or sweet potatoes, which makes it popular for baking, stuffing, and baked goods.
The plant has medium lush, creeping growth and gives bountiful harvest. The variety is suitable for growing outdoors in well-drained, warm soil. The Delicata zucchini is one of the medium late varieties, as it takes approximately 90 days from sowing. The fruits store well, allowing them to be used even in winter.
