Compact plant with medium-short internodes. Thick, spoon-shaped leaves, dark green. Great taste. Suitable for growing in pots and for cutting. The seed is officially tested and free from Fusarium oxysporum.
Gecom was obtained by selecting and isolating plants with a high content of essential oils (cineole, eugenol, linalool), which gives it an intense, fragrant and fresh scent. This variety does not contain estragole, which is responsible for the minty taste.
Fusarium oxysporum is a fungus that causes fusariosis basil, one of the most dangerous diseases of this plant. The fungus infects plants through the roots and vascular bundles, causing blockage of the transport of water and nutrients.
