The most common diseases paradižnika

The most common diseases paradižnikhese pose a serious challenge for growers, as they can greatly affect the yield and quality of fruits.

Among the most prevalent diseases are downy mildew, brown rot, leaf spot, and bacterial leaf spot.

Effective prevention and control of these diseases requires regular monitoring and appropriate use of fungicides and other protective preparations.

The most common diseases paradižnika

1. Black leaf spot

Description and appearance

Early blight is a fungal disease that appears as a round black spot, which is surrounded by yellow.

When and where does it appear?

After a rainy season or high humidity. It can appear on the stem, leaf, fruit: the entire plant.

How to take action?

Immediate removal of infected plant parts, use of systemic or contact fungicide.

Ecological curative: copper preparation.

Chemical treatment with fungicides: Dithane, Quadris, Bravo500, Score250.

Prevention

Use of uninfected seeds, airiness of the plant, use of preventive preparations.

2. Potato mold

Description and appearance

Potato late blight is a fungal disease. A gray-brown to black spot appears on the wrinkled leaf, which spreads quickly. It usually appears on the underside of the leaf, but can also appear on the upper side.

When and where does it appear?

After a rainy season or high humidity. The entire plant is susceptible: stem, leaf, fruit.

3. Leaf mold

Description and appearance

Leaf mold is a fungal disease. A gray-brown spot with a yellow border appears on the underside of the leaf, and the upper side of the leaf is yellowish.

When and where does it appear?

Leaf mold is characteristic mainly for greenhouses and tunnels, where ventilation is less. The disease is less common in open gardens. Leaf mold mainly affects the stem and leaves.

How to take action?

Remove affected leaves: spores are easily spread by the wind and can infect neighboring plants.

Let's ensure better ventilation. Removing leaf mass from outdoor plants or improving greenhouse ventilation as a curative for indoor plants.

Taking the above into account, the use of preparations or chemicals is usually not necessary.

Prevention

Good ventilation of the greenhouse and tunnel, appropriate distance between plants.

4. Round leaf spot

Description and appearance

Leaf spot (septoria) appears in the form of small, round circles of dark color, surrounded by yellow color.

There can be several dozen, even 100, such circles on a leaf. Often, the leaves on the lower part of the plant are attacked first, and it rarely appears on the fruits.

When and where does it appear?

It often occurs in the first half of summer, especially after the rainy season. It can appear on the stem, leaf, and less commonly on the fruit.

How to take action?

Immediate removal of infected plant parts, use of a systemic fungicide.

Ecological curative: copper preparation.

Chemical treatment with fungicides: Ridomil, Score250.

Prevention

Use of uninfected seeds, airiness of the plant, use of preventive preparations.

5. Gray mold

Description and appearance

Gray mold (botrytis) is a common fungal infection that manifests itself in the form of brown spots.

The infection spreads locally. The leaves dry up and die, even falling off.

When and where does it appear?

It is more common in greenhouses and tunnels, where ventilation is lower and humidity is higher. It can appear on individual leaves, twigs, stems and fruits.

How to take action?

Immediate removal of infected fruits and berries, use of contact fungicide.

Ecological curative: copper preparation.

Chemical treatment with fungicides: Bravo500.

Prevention

Use of uninfected seeds, airiness of the plant, use of preventive preparations.
