The variety was created within the framework of amateur American selection lines and is valued for its excellent taste and charming color.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"700\">The fruits are <strong data-start=\"424\" data-end=\"442\">medium-sized<\/strong> (80\u2013150 g), round to slightly flattened, with a distinct <strong data-start=\"494\" data-end=\"511\">yellow base<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"555\">orange-red marble stripes<\/strong>, which when cut open continue into a tender, light orange flesh with reddish spots. The appearance is almost \u201cjewel-like\u201d, which also inspired the name of the variety.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"996\">The taste is one of the main reasons the variety has become so valued: <strong data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"805\">sweet, fruity, rich and aromatic<\/strong>, with very balanced acidity.
