Tomatoes Comasagua El Salvador (Solanum lycopersicum) is exceptional traditional variety from the town of Comasagua in El Salvador, where it is considered one of the most common and most valued local market varieties. It grows in an area of around 1000 m above sea level, which gives it excellent flexibility and reliability even in the European climate.
The fruits are small to medium-sized, usually 40–70g, round or slightly oval, with thick, firm fleshy walls and small cavities. Such a structure allows the fruits to they don't get wet, very good they hold their shape and are suitable for a wide variety of dishes. The taste is sweet, with a very gentle acidity, making Comasagua an excellent universal paradižnik – suitable for salads, fresh eating, cooking, baking, but also for filling and gratin.
The plant is indeterminate (needs support), very productive and forms evenly distributed clusters of fruit throughout the season. Due to its strong vitality and reliable yield, it is suitable for both the garden and the greenhouse.
For us, Comasagua is El Salvador discovery of the season, because in our opinion it is about one of the best paradižniks in general – because of the exceptional combination of sweetness and acidity.
