Tomatoes Pineapple (Solanum lycopersicum) is one of the most recognizable fleshy varieties, valued for its exceptionally large, colorful fruits and sweet, fruity flavor. The fruits are often 400–700g, and in a good season they can exceed 1 kg. They are strongly ribbed, yellow-orange, with characteristic red marbled stripes in the flesh, which make each fruit unique.
The meat is dense, soft and very juicy, with few seeds. The taste is among the most popular: sweet, rich, slightly tropical, with a note that really reminds me of pineapple or apricot. It is great for cold cuts, salads, fresh consumption and all gourmet dishes where color and full flavor come to the fore.
The plant is indeterminate (needs support), very lush and tall, so it needs stable support and regular removal of leaf sheaths. The variety belongs to medium late – the crop peaks in mid to late summer, when the heaviest fruits appear.
Pineapple is originally associated with ancient French-American traditional selections large-fruited “beefsteak” paradižniks and is still one of them today the most delicious varieties of fleshy paradižniks.
