Lubenica Charleston Gray is a classic old variety, with elongated shape and green-gray smooth shell, while the inside of the fetus is bright red in color, without a fibrous texture and with a distinctly sweet taste. The fruits usually weigh between 9 and 18 kg and are suitable for Central European gardens, if we provide them with a warm, sunny location and enough space for vine shoots to grow, as the plant forms a really sprawling growth. Due to the thickness of the skin, the variety tolerates transportation well and stores well when ripe — ideal for home use or as an accent in a larger garden.
