Pumpkin Mosque of Provence is a classic French variety, known for its characteristic ribbed appearance and rich, sweet taste. The fruits are large and flattened, often heavy 5–10 kg, with deep ribs and dark orange to brown-orange peel, which acquires a slightly bronze hue when ripe. The flesh is dense, dark orange, with rich, sweet-fruity taste, which resembles a nutmeg — hence the name "nutmeg pumpkin.".
The variety has lush, creeping growth and is very fertile. It ripens approximately 110–120 days from sowing, therefore it belongs to late varieties. Musquée de Provence is ideal for soups, baked dishes, purees, pies and other dishes where you want a full, aromatic flavor. The fruits are they store well, and the taste improves even more after a few weeks of storage.
