They are prized as a traditional dish in China, Japan and Korea. These unique mushrooms are not only delicious and nutritious, but also contain numerous medicinal properties.

Hundreds of scientific studies have concluded that shiitake mushrooms lower blood cholesterol levels, inhibit the growth of certain types of bacteria, viruses, and tumors, regulate blood pressure and blood sugar, strengthen the immune system, relieve stress, and have a beneficial effect on the liver and kidneys. Until now, they have only been found in the wild in the Far East, where they have been cultivated artificially for over a thousand years.
