Pitaya Yellow Thai is special hybrid variety, created by crossing Selenicereus megalanthus × Hylocereus undatus, which gives it a combination of excellent properties of both types: high fertility, self-pollination, good aroma and the characteristic spines of megalanthus.
The plant is very lush, with strong three-sided shoots, which often have on the lower parts of the fruits longer spines. Its flowers are large, white, strongly fragrant, with good fruit setting even without the presence of another variety, as it is completely self-fertile.
The fruits are usually greater than 450 g, with thicker, slightly pink skin, which when ripe turns into a combination of pink and pale yellowish tones, which makes them very decorative. The flesh is completely white, soft and juicy, with tiny crunchy seeds. The taste is slightly sweet, with a distinct lemon-citrus note, which gives the fruit freshness and distinguishes it from classic white-fleshed varieties.
