Pitaya Thomson White (Hylocereus undatus) is one of the most prized varieties of white pitaya, named after Paul H. Thomson, co-founder of the organization California Rare Fruit Growers and a pioneer in the cultivation and research of dragon fruit. It is a variety that is famous for extremely large fruits, who can achieve 700–900g, and after extremely stable fertility.
The plant forms very thick, three-sided shoots with small, delicate thorns and lush growth that requires strong support. The flowers are very large, white, they open at night and are extremely decorative. Thomson White is self-fertile – for fruit formation does not need another variety, which makes it ideal for home cultivation.
