Sweet onion – Dolce

This onion variety produces very large and heavy onions. (also more than 1kg), comparable in size to Giarratana onions, but with more round shape.

The bulbs are very large, round to slightly flattened, with a characteristic golden white color. The skin is thin, but the flesh is juicy and tender, with a very, very sharp edge. Due to its size and structure, the variety is particularly interesting for fresh use.

The taste is mild and slightly sweet, therefore it is suitable for fresh salads, caramelization, side dishes. Due to its thin shell, it is not intended for long-term storage.

Seeds are sown in early spring, seedlings are transplanted outdoors in May.
